How do you get access to the Mindbody API?
To use the Mindbody Public API yourself, you create a developer account, test in the free sandbox, request live access, and get each studio owner to approve a site activation code. With StudioVector you do none of that: you connect your Site ID and approve one activation code. You do not need a Mindbody developer account or API key.

What does Mindbody require for API access?
Mindbody's developer documentation lists five steps and says to follow them in order: create a developer account, test in the sandbox, request approval to go live, get a site-specific activation code, and have the business owner activate it.
- Create a developer account. Sign up in Mindbody's developer portal. The business name you enter becomes your SourceName. Mindbody says it cannot be changed afterwards, and it appears on receipts, in reports and on sign-in screens.
- Build and test in the sandbox. The sandbox is Site ID -99. Mindbody says it is free, its data is fictitious, and it is refreshed nightly. Requests to it never count toward fees.
- Request Live Access. Log in to your developer account, open Dashboard, and click Request Live Access. You fill in an application and enter billing information, and you need the Site ID of the first business you will integrate with. Mindbody reviews it and emails you when it is approved.
- Get a site activation code. In your developer account, open Account, then Site activation, and enter the business's Site ID. Mindbody returns an activation code and an activation link. The GetActivationCode endpoint does the same from code.
- Have the owner activate it. The business owner opens the activation link and signs in to their Mindbody site with the owner login, or enters the code under Manager Tools → Mindbody Add Ons → API Integrations. Only then can your application read that site's live data.
How much does the Mindbody API cost?
Mindbody's developer FAQ says the sandbox is free. For live data it lists an API access fee of $0.002 per request, billed monthly. A month with fewer than 5,000 requests costs nothing, but a month with more than 5,000 charges every request, including the first 5,000.
Developers who work with several Mindbody businesses can also face per-location and per-booking fees. Fees change, so check Mindbody's developer FAQ before you budget.
How long does Mindbody take to approve live access?
Mindbody's documentation gives no turnaround time. It says Mindbody reviews your application and emails you when your account status changes, so plan for a wait before you can read a studio's live data.
How does StudioVector skip this paperwork?
StudioVector holds the developer account, the API key and the approved live access. You do not need a Mindbody developer account, and StudioVector does not ask for your Mindbody password. You connect your Site ID from your account, approve one activation code in Mindbody as in step five, and add https://studiovector.io/mcp in your AI assistant.
Each connection is for the one Site ID you approve. Your plan is metered in credits, and 1 credit is 1 Mindbody request.
To link the activation code to your studio, follow Mindbody's guide to setting up an API integration. For a plan question, email contact@22labs.io.
